Research

Now that I have retired as Journal Editor for the Beadworkers Guild my next                           beading adventure will be to dedicate my time to researching the history of     British Beadwork.

I have spent many years researching historical beadwork, creating my own collection and I  am now curating the Beadworkers Guild collection of beadwork too. I hope that now I have more time to dedicate to research that I will be able to make more progress, particularly as I have narrowed the field to British Beadwork.

I intend to research all time periods, but my particular interest has always been the 17th century, and this is where I will concentrate my efforts to start with. Folk Art, including beadwork, is a much neglected area of research. If my work can help contribute in any way to this overlooked area of art history all the effort will be worthwhile.

Here is a sneak peak at what I have been working on so far. This will be a new website dedicated to British Beadwork and will contain much of my research. I hope to launch the website in 2023. If you would like to be notified when the website goes live please get in touch via the contact page. Likewise, if you think you may have something to contribute to this website I would be very interest to hear from you.
